The quiet town of Ballylough hides far more than its charming surface suggests, and Danielle is quickly caught up in its dark mysteries. Two men from her past, with whom she shares a bond that stretches across centuries, reappear in her life, complicating her emotions as they alternate between warmth and distance, leaving her torn.
But it’s not just love that haunts Ballylough. Strange forces are at play. Magic and danger simmer beneath the town’s surface, and an unknown monster wreaks havoc, slaughtering livestock and spreading fear. No one knows what it is or what it wants, but its violent presence looms ever larger.
As Danielle navigates secret alliances, forbidden love, and a growing supernatural threat, she must discover the truth behind the town’s legends before the mysterious force targets the people of Ballylough&mdashland her.

Wow I could not put this book down. It's an amazing story. This book is very well written and the characters are all fantastic. Seems some have talents that they know about and others are just finding out. Danielle has a strong personality but doesn't know her full potential. All the lads seem to want her. And she mostly wants Garrett. But since he has so many secrets of his own they can't be together. They have a relationship with a lot of pushing and pulling. I can hardly wait for the next book to find out what happens. I wouldn't mind seeing Danielle with Sean but not sure if that's in the cards. All will be revealed in the next book. Mariah is a wonderful author. I'm very happy her friend pushed her to publish this story. It's a very excellent read. One I highly recommend.

This second installment of the series was just as riveting as book one, and I found myself completely immersed into the fantasy realm and well as the very real Irish landscape. Ireland is one of my favorite places, and the author captures the beauty and whimsical nature of the country so perfectly in this book! With the added fantasy twists, it was an easy 4.5-5 star read!
